  • A Saudi coalition airstrike on the Yemeni city of Ibb hit a civilian house. Reports vary but between 10 and 20 civilians were killed. Women and children were among the dead. [Link] US/Saudi War Against Yemen Fyle
  • The US government has tried to continue the narrative that US troops in Afghanistan are in non combat roles. However, US troops are embedded with the Afghan forces on the front lines and are fighting in about 10% of battles. [Link] Afghanistan Fyle
  • The upcoming battle of Mosul will be extremely complex. Americans, Sunni, Shi’ite, and Kurdish forces will all be fighting to retake the city. All of these group have different agendas for what they would like to happen. There is also about 1 million civilians left in Mosul.   • To defend Mosul, ISIS has dug moats, filled them with oil, and set them on fire. The smoke can be hazardous to troops on the ground and obstruct the view from planes. [Link] ISIS War Fyle
  • Trump meets with Israeli President Netanyahu. The big story to come out of the meeting is Trump would support Jerusalem as being the unified capital of Israel. This is a shift in US policy on Israel. [Link] Israel Fyle
  •  A video has finally been released of a NH police officer macing 3 handcuffed people who had been arrested. The officer has since resigned, but did not face any legal consequences for his actions. [Link] Police Fyle
  • Psychologists and mental health experts are outraged at the punishment given to Chelsea Manning. Manning was recently given with 2 weeks of solitary confinement as a punishment for her suicide attempt. Mental health experts say that solitary confinement can cause a person to be more likely to commit suicide. [Link] Whistleblower Fyle
