  • The US government is using propaganda to gain public support for intervention in Syria. The US has used social media paid promotions to push its narrative of Syria. The US government has used other methods to hide stories out of Syria it does not want to reach the public. [Link] Syria Fyle
  • The Syrian rebel group, Army of Conquest, has two Syrian towns under siege. The Army of Conquest has used snipers and car bombs to terrorize the citizens of the towns. The snipers have even targeted children, especially young males. The Army of Conquest is supported by US allies Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Some fear a massacre of the two towns are possible if an agreement with the Syrian government falls apart. [Link] Syria Fyle
  • Moody’s cut Turkey’s credit rating to junk. The rating was cut because of the government’s response to the coup and a slowing economy. This may mean Turkey will have to pay more to borrow money internationally. [Link] Turkey Coup Fyle
  • The prisoners strike continues to grow. There are at least some inmates striking in at least 46 prisons or jails. The inmates are striking against what they see as unfair prison labor rules. Inmates are refusing to work or refusing to eat as their means striking. Incidents of prisons retaliating against the inmates are beginning to be reported. [Link] Police Fyle

  • A Baltimore man, Tawon Boyd, called the 911 asking for assistance for feeling disoriented. When police arrived Boyd was paranoid and needed to be taken to a medical facility for evaluation. Boyd resisted the police and was beaten by officers. Boyd died in the hospital with injuries that included brain swelling. [Link] Police Fyle
  • The US has spent $1.5 trillion to develop the F-35 and the plane still does not work. A F-35 recently caught fire on the ground. Other F-35s have been grounded due to the insulation problems in the cooling lines. There are several other problem with the F-35 despite the government declaring it combat ready.   • A Bronx teacher is arrested for beating up a student. The teacher gave the student $4,000 to buy a pound of marijuana. The student kept the money without giving the teacher the weed. The teacher attempted to beat the money out of the student. [Link]
